About
His insatiable curiosity for technology and innate passion for music gradually paved Roi Rico's personal and professional career.
Born in Madrid, he was introduced from an early age to the world of classical music by the means of Cello. During his adolescence, the search for new sounds and textures served as guidance to create and participate in various bands, experimenting with different instruments, in addition to continuing his classical training.
Coming from a family of engineers and mathematicians, science and technology always bothered and pleased him. For this reason, he decided to graduate from the 'Universidad Autónoma de Madrid' and the 'Technische Universität Berlin' in 'Telecommunication Technologies and Services Engineering', specialising in Audio and Video signal treatment.
After working as an engineer for a period of time, he decided to combine his two great passions and enrolled at 'Abbey Road Institute Berlin' to study 'Advanced Diploma in Music Production & Sound Engineering'.
After his studies, he began to work with independent artists as a recording, mixing and mastering engineer on numerous small projects, as well as assisting on recording sessions as a location sound engineer. Shortly after, he began to work in productions by Colors Studios, The Circle Sessions and Universal Music as a recording and mixing engineer, working with artists such as Yussef Dayes, Venna, FKJ, Bawo, Priya Ragu, LATIN MAFIA, Cuco, Anaïs Cardot, Apsilon, Dear Silas, Aylø, Fae Lou, Bri Steves, Benee, Shaboozey, Alice Phoebe Lou and Stephen Sanchez among others.
